The Velvet community orchard

Working in partnership with national tree charity Trees for Cities and funded by Velvet Toilet Tissue, we set about engaging the Perry Common community in the reclamation of a 'fly tip' in their local park. Our objective was to encourage the community to fight back against anti-social dumping of waste on their doorstep by getting local residents involved in helping to clear the site and plant a beautiful, traditional orchard. The orchard was and still is a roaring sucess, having transformed the area. The site is now used as a weekly meeting place for local residents.
